Get To Know Me
I’m an early bird whose favorite time of day is 5:00 am when the house is quiet, I’m taking that first sip of steaming hot coffee (or tea when I’m feeling crazy) and starting to brainstorm a new project. Crazy, huh? I love what I do, and I look forward to that little snippet of my day when I have no distractions between me and my creative work.
I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Journalism School with a focus in graphic design. My background in design and journalism means I am a born communicator, both visually and with words. Since leaving my favorite town on Earth, I’ve had experience designing for a custom publishing house, an in-house marketing department and managed a team of designers at an award-winning full-service advertising agency. Whew! I’m exhausted just remembering all that experience!
After having my first daughter and realizing my client relationship philosophy didn’t jibe with the churn and burn agency world, I decided to put on my big girl pants, leave the agency world and strike out on my own. And I haven’t looked back. As a boutique designer, I am able to spend the time to really get to know my clients and build long-term relationships.
I love working with clients who are enthusiastic about how their brand is portrayed, understand that the importance of good design is in the details, enjoy collaborating and aren't allergic to changing things to make them better.
When I’m not working on a new project, you can find me sweating at the gym, cooking up something scrumptious in the kitchen, working on DIY projects around my house or having spontaneous dance parties with my husband and curly-haired, full-of-energy little girl (and her new baby sister) — it’s an action-packed life, for sure! And I sleep really well at night after all of that action, ready to start it all over the next morning with that first big sip of caffeine.
